There are some of the clues that should make you think if your dog is suffering from a joint ailment, possibly arthritis. In such cases it is highly advisable to take your dog to a vet for a regular checkup. These days through MRI scans vets can discover joint ailments and other related diseases in dogs. Some of the most common symptoms of arthritis in dogs are as follows:

  • Dog would start gaining weight
  • Less interested in physical activities like outdoor playing or walking
  • Sleeping more often
  • Alertness levels would dip
  • Easily get irritated or start barking at you. Their complete behavior can change.
  • They seem to be less excited to greet you or cuddle with you whenever they see you
  • Easily fatigued
  • Start to limp slightly while walking

In case you have noticed such symptoms in your dog then it is time to visit the vet and get his consultation. It's a good idea to help your dog relieve any pain associated with arthritis by getting some dog arthritis pain meds and leaving surgery as a last resort. The more you wait the more will the arthritis spread and cause permanent injury to your dog. Therefore seek help from a vet as soon as possible.
